I grew up in New York City eating lots of bagels and lox, and pizza of course, but also being exposed to various cuisines from a young age. My mother was not an amazing cook, so I started experimenting in the kitchen around the age of 7 or 8. Not all of my dishes were successful, but more often than not they were tasty and filling.
Today, I live in Philadelphia and love to cook for friends and family, whether big, family-style feasts or smaller, more intimate meals. Also, I love to share stories of delicious meals and tastes I’ve had in restaurants–at home or abroad–and then try to recreate those flavors in my own kitchen. I hope to share some of these stories and experiences in this blog. Fingers crossed!
I would love to hear from all of you as well. Whether it’s a story of a family meal or recipe, or an exciting culinary experience while traveling, or even just a question about one of my posts. I will try to respond to all feedback as quickly as possible.
Thanks,
Jonathan
